Gail Grantmaier :
"WOW – This is amazing!"
In many ways, Scituate teller Gail Grantmaier is “back where she started,” and happy now to be “back where I belong.”
A Cranston native who later moved to Johnston, Gail is now back living in the same Cranston house where she grew up. The garden where she and her husband of 32 years, Ray, grow tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and more is the same garden her father used to plant and tend to. And, the banking career she began in her 20’s and later left for office work picked up again when she joined Dexter Credit Union in 2009.
“I was so happy to get back into the banking field, and especially with Dexter Credit Union,” she says. “I love it here. I love coming to work every day, and I love our members and my co-workers. We’re like a little family.”
Of course, the branch at the Scituate Village Shopping Plaza that Gail joined almost three years ago is not the same one she calls her home-away-from-home now — our totally brand-new Scituate office on Danielson Pike that officially opened on July 2nd.
“The new Scituate office is absolutely gorgeous,” she says. “It’s beautiful inside and outside, and the atmosphere is wonderful.
“Our members come in and it’s like: ‘WOW — This is amazing!’
“It’s so different in design from our previous location that it’s exciting to be here, and I could go on and on about it.”
Gail feels honored to have been selected as Dexter Credit Union’s Employee of the Third Quarter.
“I am a very dedicated person; I put everything I have into my job, to do it well for the Credit Union and for our members. I was so excited to be chosen - I guess it means that
I’ve done my job well,” she says. “Actually, everyone here is good at what they do.
“We all love to see our members leave with a smile on their face,” Gail adds.
